1.
I'm not better off but I'm not waiting on a call. I know better than to fixate on words that caught wind and cause us to stall. We spiral into free-fall. Chalk it up to not following closely to protocol. It tends to happen after nightfall. I'm not to blame for time not well spent, but I'll reap the consequence for not letting the heat vent. Pushing fists through drywall, I feel the air thin. Thinking only on what could have been if I could have learned to take it on the chin. Instead I'll play the mannequin and grow plastic skin. Making permanent this passive grin. You will never see what I hold within. Don't say anything you haven't said before. I won't count down the hours until I'm by myself listening to silence when everything is golden. But I'm wearing gloves, so my touch won't be worth anything.
2.
I wasted the day medicated, questioning the prevalence of your benevolence. Your persistence was premeditated while my existence was still based in violence. Your love was a strong sedative. I wasted the day medicated. No expectations, no limits. No exceptions, no gimmicks. My concepts corroded the contents of my conscious, so I practice humility and find reasons to be content.
3.
Your negativity bores me when possibilities are flourishing. The earth can be nourishing if you quit your worrying. You'll see red skies as a warning as the sun rises each morning. Even when I am lost touring, even when the sky is pouring. We saw the tide bring us roses and swam through the water as it chose us. On the shore there stood dark towers but the tide still brought us flowers. Around every corner, a garden. But all the care takers abandoned their fields and the seeds shell hardened. they stayed barred in to justify the opportunities that they pardoned. It's as if everyone planted flowers just to waste a few good hours. They never cared to bring them water, and blamed it all on the potter. I will hold you in a thankful heart. I will find you, you don't have the tell me where you are. Tell me where you are going and I will follow the bread crumbs. You give me a lump sum of the dumb fun we had before we flooded the reservoir. I will hold you in a thankful heart. I will find you floating somewhere in the dark.
4.
Life is a balance between happiness and accomplishment, between art and paying rent. It finds me drawn and quartered, but this feels heaven sent and so I will polish it. To your astonishment I don't care if theres and audience. Just do your very best. And the ends to your means will become more obvious because you are competent. Take it slow, swallow it whole. Learn how to grow in the fields you know. Take it slow you'll know where to go. I can see myself on the other side of this window. I like to imagine where my reflection will go. I'm trying to determine if he's me in a couple years, or if he's the me that I could have been if I had planted myself here. Take it slow swallow it whole. Learn how to grow in the fields you know. Take it slow, you'll know where to go. Take deep breaths and overdue rest. Clean up your mess and help me build a home. But take it slow and learn to let go.
